Is it the plug or the technique of fishing the plugs which attract the bass?

I know in different kinds of water you should use certain plugs. If your retrieving it wrong will they still go for it?

Blues will go for it most of the time a bass may follow but will probably turn away once it gets close enough, fishing plugs is all about technique you have to be confident you are working them properly especially in the ocean when dealing w/ the waves you need to let them slide down the back of a wave and not let them stay on top of it or get pushed and tumbled in front of it.Waves generally come in sets if you can figure about how many waves per set you have a better chance of working the white water longer, don't cast until a wave breaks.Bass feed in the foamy white water behind where the wave starts to lift if another wave is right behind it let the plug drop back and then start your retrieve work the plug in the whitewater as long as possible.

You never know what the fish are going to go after. The technique is most important. Do some reading up on how to fish the different plugs. It will bring you more success.

Here is link about needlefish. You can do a search on the forum for others.
