OCEAN COUNTY (http://www.nj.com/ocean/) -- Three men were treated for hypothermia after they were rescued tonight from the waters near Barnegat Inlet in Ocean County where they were fishing in the jetties, authorities said.
The Coast Guard responded to a call at 6:50 p.m. reporting three men had slipped into the water. They sent a helicopter to the scene and rescued the three fishermen, said Annmarie Gorden, Coast Guard spokeswoman.
The men were then sent to Southern Ocean County Hospital in Manahawkin, where they were recovering tonight.
It was not immediately clear how the men ended up in the waters while they were fishing.
