I understand the bigger they are the more worms they have. I could be wrong. The only reason I could think of to weigh such a big fish is if it's a trophy. I would be real surprised to hear they ate that.

i kept a biggin once and yes wormy will never keep another plus it was a huge pain iun the arse to clean the scales were huge and liuke armor

That's kind of what I thought. Wormy and parasitic. It's definitely a trophy fish but it's a shame that it'll probably end up in a dumpster. It was probably older than I am.

I could never see weighing a fish in solely for the glory unless it's a state record. Drum fishing is great, most of the drum fishing I have been done is catch and release.
