Harbor Tackle, West Ocean City, Md. Fishing Report for May 14, 2010
Due to the winds this week, fishing was hard on the fishermen. People that braved the sand blasting did hook up with fish. Although striper fishing slowed this past week, some nice fish were still caught. Along with the stripers were skates, dogfish, black drum, and a few sand bar sharks. I’ve heard from a few fishermen this AM and the bite is on. Hopefully, it will keep up throughout the weekend. More flounder are showing up, but not many keepers. The striper bite has been great at the Rt. 50 Bridge at night along with the shad. Still nice tog around however the bite has slowed.
Harbor Tackle has fresh bunker, live bloodworms, live green crabs, live eels, black saltys, live chowder clams, big live minnows, and live peelers.

Harbor Tackle, West Ocean City, Md. Fishing Report for May 20, 2010
Stripers are being taken from the surf at AI and North Ocean City. Mixed with the stripers are dogfish, skates, blues, sand bar sharks. The most productive bait has been fresh bunker, live peelers and sandfleas. A couple of my customers told me the flounder catch is getting better, however, not many keepers. Best places to look for flounder have been the south bay from the airport down. The striper bite has been on at the Rt. 50 Bridge at night along with the shad. Blues were at the Inlet last night. Some nice tog are still being caught and the creel limit has gone down to 2 per person per day with a 14 inch minimum.
Congratulations to the following: Tim Adle of Bel Air, Maryland with his 15 lb 10 oz 36 ½ inch striper taken from AI on fresh bunker. The team effort of Phillip and Kathryn Allen from Hagerstown, Maryland produced their 16 lb 10 oz 35 ¾ inch striper hooked up at Assateague using fresh bunker. She casted and hooked up the fish. Kathryn gave the rod to her husband as the fish was too large for her to fight and Phil beached the striper. Bill Goins came in with a 38 inch striper also from Assateague.

Last weekend 3 red drum were caught at AI. The largest fish was over 50 inches. Striper fishing is still good along with a few black drum, blues, skates, rays and sharks. The most productive bait has been fresh bunker, live peelers and sandfleas. The best places to look for flounder have been the south bay from the airport south. Flounder have also been taken from the Rt. 90 Bridge area. At the Rt. 50 and the Inlet are blues, flounder, shad and stripers. One of my customers and his son were fishing the Inlet this week. They caught about 40 blues in the 15 to 20 inch range, a 19 inch flounder on cut bluefish, and a 22 inch striper on a bucktail. Still plenty of tog; however, most are under the 14 inch mark.
Congratulations to Todd Russell from Salisbury, Md with his 26 lb 8 oz 39 ½ inch striper taken from AI using fresh bunker on the outgoing tide.
