I don't know if this is true but I read that party boats are killing stripers over the 3 mile limit in NY. How come the agency can't stop them?

Crosseyedbass, the NY DEC actively targets poachers at shore locations.
Here's a link for those violations:

I think the NY Marine police is responsible for those violations inshore of 3 mi, while I believe the Coast Guard is responsible for those violations in the EEZ.
Here's a link for that, and some additional info about the extent of poaching in the EEZ:

(posts 13-21 give you the resources to contact the Coast Guard, there is a national contact # somewhere within those posts)
If you or anyone else knows of guys fishing in the EEZ and have any kind of data to support that, other than a rumor, the Coast Guard would welcome that info.
Contact me privately through PM if you need more info or help.
Feel free to pass along any of those numbers to your friends who fish. It's only through action and guys making detailed complaints that stuff like this will be prosecuted. Ranting about it on the internet, while it's good to promote awareness, doesn't do much good. So pass those numbers along, and make that call.
