top 5 presentations for fishing for bass and blues in the hot weather

So what are your top 5 "go to" presentations if you want to catch bass and blues from the surf in this hot weather?

I have been using a bucktail with porkrind, but have only caught some sea robins on it. I could use all the help I could get, thanks!

Baitstealer you need to make sure the bucktail you are using is not too heavy for the water you're fishing, 1/2 to 3/4 oz for sandy flat beaches, 1-2 oz for strong current, and heavier if fishing deep channels or rips or inlets with moon tides. Time of day is important as well, you won't catch much in the middle of the day unless there is some bait around, Try sunrise and first light, and sunset.

My choices -

bucktail w pork
small tins with teasers for whitebait
rubber, like storm shad and tsunami
pencils or bottle poppers
danny type swimmer, again, fished slowly at night

- At sunrise Pencils and Poppers in rough water and rips.
- Metal lip wood in white water, rough water and rips.
- In the dark Diamond jigs w/red rubber tail and red plastic teaser (Rougher the water the better, LOW part of water column).
- Teasers (deceivers and red rubber) 90% of the time with above.
- Bunker pod, through the 4 oz J-Rod bunker metal, it gets below the pod quick.

You want an almost guarantee of bass in the hot weather?
Bait - crabs, eels, pogy, or worms, one of these will catch fish if nothing else works. Throw the bag of plugs, but don't forget the bait.

Go deep and slow the warm water this year will make them sluggish, inlets are the best bet incoming is usually better getting some cooler more oxygenated water flow and as the others have said fish at night or early a.m. and dusk. Tins,bucktails w/rind,rubber shads a popper may draw a blue from the outer bar and look for deep pockets around structure they aren't going to want to move much in the warm water the ocean is getting to the upper temp. range for bass. Could be a possible for some tuna if the water stays warm and the gulf stream pushes far enough to the coast although it doesn't happen often it does happen.
