I want to take some kids fishing with some light tackle, is there anyone getting them now, or should we wait until september? Thanks guys.

They have been in and out of the Manasquan inlet. They move with the tide and tend to stay in the middle. Take the kids fishing for them when the boat traffic is lighter, and you should do ok. Good luck.

Yoiu can also hit the wall on the PP side of the inlet with sabiki rigs right now and catch em up.

They are in nomoco the usual places. Got 6 of them last night while fluking. Missed quite a few more. They hit the teaser. I imagine they would hit small plugs as well.

^ It's that time of year again. Hickory shad, which have been here for a while, are real thick in the usual places.....
Some of the ones I'm hearing about being caught are almost as big as the state record.....
On light tackle these are a blast to catch...
