Mainly the great south bay they lived on Fire Island for some time than moved back to the mainland and still fished GSB thats when I started fishing on another boat he had around 3 yrs. going for blowfish until they moved east than he was a Moriches Bay guy.I learned a lot from him mainly through getting yelled at but it stuck w/ me.He always said you need patience to be a fisherman man if that isn't true I don't know what is.

What a great philosophy and very true. That boat has classic lines and attractiveness, she's a beauty. Thanks for sharing the photos with us.

Yes sir decades that went by wood boats are hard to find especially built w/ your own hands I don't know wheather it was the satisfaction or the have to back then, if you wanted a boat and couldn't buy one you just had to do it yourself.:d

Outstanding craftsmanship!
Is that lady in the back your grandmother. I didn't think women fished a lot back then. If so that's wild!

Great pics. Thanks for putting them up. Absolutely superb craftsmen in that generation. What I wouldn't give to sit down and talk with my own GP, now that I am nearing the age I knew him at. What a generation of men.

They did it all with the least amount of tools and craftsmen they were, they were using real joinery not just gluing all the peices together like todays garbage they made it work.I wish I had 1/2 the knowledge Pop had.
