Took the boys yesterday to Round Valley. We found some smallmouth, LMB and monster bluegills. I was trying to catch them on a fly most of the time but they would follow but not take it. As the sun was going down, I decided to change to lures and fake worms. I forgot my tube jigs at home which would have been great because the bass were in 20 feet or so. I got a few on a fake worm. Kids got them on nightcrawlers. We lost a few fish as well. All of the bass gave us a great fight and lots of acrobatics.
We had a little contest, me vs the kids and they won. They caught 5 bass and I only caught 3. We also counted the monster sunfish in the contest and they caught a lot of those so I really got killed.
