deciding on the right knot

What are some of the things you consider when determining which knot to use?

Baitstealer, I use polamer knot 90% of the time. it a 100% knot meaning it has the max. pound test of the line. Other times I use improve clinch knot. only if the polmar can't be used.
The Polamr knot could be used on Braid lines like Power Pro.
