I remember great action in the fall last year, beginning around october. The sand eels were a few miles out, as they are now. Anyone want to make any predictions when the surf will be chock full of them?

I have learned that there are a bunch of different reasons. Weather, a storm, a full moon, wind direction. I just have not perfected it yet.

They have been a few miles offshore all summer. I would say by the middle of October they should be thick from the beaches.

Not heavy now, but theyre here. I was fishing in OC the other day and pulled in a fluke that had one sticking out of its mouth.
