making your own

So many guys make their own plugs, I was wondering if any one has made their own hooks or rods out of something out of the ordinary. Like a rod out of Bamboo etc.

I have seen old fly rods made out of bamboo. Have not attempted to make one myself yet

My grandfather had an old bamboo rod, and a rod he made out of an stick as kid. He had them for years. I think he kept them for old times sake. Wish they were still around.
