crabs and stripers

I been fishing an area where the crabs are eating my bait almost as fast my line enters the water. Is it true that if there are lots of crabs around there is no bass and I should move on?

I would move on although bass do eat crabs maybe rethink your rig also.

Move on generally crabs bury themselves in the sand when bass are around. When they come out to eat the coast is clear.
