Hello all,

what is it that makes a fish,be it bass or chopper, attack a plug that is huge and it can't possibly eat?

this year I have had several smaller fish slam into my plug and it is huge and they were small.
It is kinda like suicide.
perhaps they are over stimulated or the attack mode is full on and they don't care or is it just that said fish is a retard?

lets hear what ya think,,,

The best answer I can give is an innate desire to feed.

Realistically, that desire should be tempered by fear of a bigger fish, sometimes not. I had an 8" striped bass hit the 23" tube n worm 2 weeks ago, the smallest bass I've ever caught. I don't know how that bass figured he would swallow that eel if it was real when it was 3x longer than he was. He didn't seem too worried about the logistics, though. :kooky:

Small bass and bluefish have big cojones. Ever hear of the expression "your mouth is bigger than your stomach?"

This is a good example of that, the bass could barely fit the bunker but it did anyway.

Cool pic, at least the bass eat the whole thing. The bluefish just nip off the tails or the back half.

2 things come to mind

1 is competition.

2nd is I wonder how their eyes view the bait from in the water? Do they see it clearly or smaller or larger than it actually is? Is it just the movement/action of a particular plug?

The same thing that makes a 70 year old man think he can satisfy a 25 year old chick. BigBalls!:naughty:
