Reel repair in Ocean County area?

I was wondering how many of your guys repair your own reels, or if you let the tackle shop guys do it? I think I had a reel repaired a few years ago at Scott's B&T in Long Branch, but now they are going out of business. I was looking for a place closer to Ocean County. If you guys had any suggestions for places you were happy with, I would appreciate it, thanks!

I have to add to the good comments here, people.

I was down fishin that way last week. I had some issues with the reel and the rod that prevented me from throwing some energy into my casts. Got some fish, but missed out on a lot more.

Went to see Dave at the Reel Seat, and he hooked me up. :thumbsup: :HappyWave:

I needed that reel back for the PM bite, and they had it taken apart, serviced, and drag set to factory specs within a few hours. I can't promise they'll do that for everyone unless you buy John, the guy who works for Dave, lunch or a few burgers. :d

I have to say I was amazed at the smoothness of the reel when I got it back, all greased up and like new again. Even though it's not a high-end reel, a Diawa, it was the only spare I had for my fall setups, and I needed it bad to stay in the game. :fishing:

If ya go in there, ask for Big John, or the other guy who they have fixing the reels. :HappyWave: They do a fantastic job, and having gear that works the right way can make any fisherman happy. I certainly am. :lookhappy:

Porgy, I'm not sure because I bought a bunch of tackle there too, but I think they charged me about $20 or $25 to completely clean, overhaul, replace the line roller, and grease. Not a bad deal to put a reel back in like-new condition. And the guys doing it have years of experience.

I would definitely recommend them. :thumbsup:
