I've heard guys talk about it. This weekend I will be hitting up the local shops to try one out. I want to see how they handle for myself. Part of my resistance is the price. How can a company justify charging $600 for an off-the shelf rod that isn't even a custom?

As I said, no disrespect to Alberto or anyone intended. I'm just trying to figure in my hed what features or componentst make that rod cost that much?

And the real million dollar question, is it worth the price they are asking? Thanks guys.

I'm sorry but I would never pay $600 for a rod. If you lived at Montauk, fished it every day, and they offered an unconditional unlimited lifetime free replacement no matter how many times you broke it, I could see paying that much. Otherwise, I'll pass.:kooky:

Lami's are good rods but no way am I paying for a rod in that price range that is not custom built for me and me only I wouldn't pay it for a custom actually. You are paying for the names Lami and Alberto and I mean no disrespect the guy is an excellent fisherman but I cannot justify that money, just what is it going to do that other rods can't.Get a VS and that rod and you could pay your mortgage for a month.

I can't see them justifying that premium either. You can get a custom built rod with the best quality guides available for about half that price. Like you said, no disrespect intended, Alberto is well-liked and a helluva fisherman. That being said, I wouldn't buy one.

Aquaskinz is another over priced line their gloves are good and their finger guard IMO their wader belt w/backbrace is garbage belt is too thin and the backbrace part you may as well strap a piece of plywood across your back I have pretty good judgement w/ back braces lol.
