Brass Stopper

The brass stopper and surrounding ring of my bathroom sink tarnish constantly. Is there a protective coating I can put over it that would resist the cleansers I use to help prevent tarnish?

Once clean and dry, you can apply lacquer with a small brush or you can spray a clear acrylic coating after masking the sink surfaces. Re- apply as needed as it will not last forever.
