Hi guys,
I'm new here and dont know a ton about fly fishing, but do tie alot(i own a company). Recently it has driven me away from having time to fish much. To get to the point i'm looking for new ideas to create, mainly teasers, but jigs too. Please let me know if theres any ideas out there, everything i come up with sounds good, but turns into "that thing was made up 50yrs ago". I'm itching to get out and fish hopefully a bit more than last year.:d

Hey lobking, welcome aboard?
Whereabouts do you fish during the season?
Do you tie all your teasers?
Who got you started?
Tell us a little about your fishing, either here or feel free to introduce yourself here:

When you talk about "that thing that was made 50 yrs ago" quite often "that thing" will outfish 90% of the fancy offerings on the market, if in the hands of a capable angler. Take bucktails for example, tried and true fish catchers up to some of largest fish out there. But many are bored with bucktails because the success of using one depends on the angler.
Look forward to seeing your contributions here on the site, and best of luck. :HappyWave:

I mainly fluke and striper fish, belmar area, will also be trying up north this year.
I do tie all my own, although i do have to give credit to my grandfather for my sandeel pattern.
I use the 50 year old stuff and do great although gulp is where its at alot of times for me
Made a fluke colored fish head jig and nobody likes it at all, everything eats fluke, ive heard stories i can't imagine about bass caught on them while live-lining, unfortunately it would be mega bass to eat one 18"

Lobking, here's a pic I posted of a bluefish belly filled with baby fluke.
Bass eat them as well. I think the key to success would be using teasers that resemble this profile when they're eating them.
