Don't let Speedy see this.....

Fished bayside this morning from 4:45-8:45.
Threw Hogys, sluggos, nothing.
Was throwing a plug Speedy made me (green/chartreuse....I'm not good with colors) metal lip. Swims real nice :drool: , anyway a blue slams it in a small rip. Release the blue, plug goes back in the bag....Had the plug 2 days, don't want to wreck that paint job in less than a week :beatin:, Him seeing that plug in a Blues mouth so fast may have got him going a little bonkers :scared:. threw some metal, pencil, nothing. Put on Rip Plugger metal lip, it gets slammed by a blue :wheeeee:. Put on Surfstix Popper (it was made for days like this). Ended up with about 15 more on his popper and another on a big pencil. Blues were ~2 - ~6 pounds, Spread out over a good size area, lots of fun (no one else in site (not even the guy on the surfboard with the kayak paddle)). Had one blue come out of the water (air born) shaking his head and threw Surfstix plug 15 feet :wow:

Hey thats what plugs are made for to be fished and have the fish smash the crap out of them. I dont understand the guys who have $3000 worth of plugs sitting in the living room in a case or shadow box. Like little girls with Barbies or beanie babies, fish the stuff for chrisssake!

One of the coolest things I have ever read on an internet site. The guys build plugs to see them get used and catch fish. What good is a plug that sits in a display case somewhere. This is what surf fishing should really be about. Thanks for sharing that, Monty.

Rip-plugger is a big dude, even a little bit of him would be like carrying 50 extra lbs! Ya ever see a pic of RP holdin a big bass, he makes a 30lb bass look like a 30" bass. Still, a nice tribute to Speedy, Surfstix, and RP, Monty. :thumbsup:

Steve, just noticed this post...that's the way Speedy and I talk to each other....no worries....
When I'm fishin in his area at night I roll into his parking lot with "King of the Googs" prank awards and post them on his windshield....just my way of checking in on him.......

BTW Speedy when you do read this, Fin has the rod he built for ya...it's gathering dust in his basement.....
