A visit to Speedy's Castle.....

I made a long overdue trip to see Speedy yesterday. I had some wax for his plugs, and it took me 3 months to get it to him. Ya just can't rely on me for stuff, bro, my bad, sorry. http://stripersandanglers.com/Forum/images/icons/icon11.png

I gotta say, after driving the 10 mile rocky mountain road (falling rocks and vultures on the way), I was real impressed with his digs. I got to see the plug making machinery, the shop, and all the templates he uses. I didn't bring my camera with me, maybe he'll let me take pis next time and we'll post em in this thread.

The grizzly duplicator, the tools, all indicated a seriousness about plug building (oar an addiction, take your pick) :ROFLMAO

But seriously folks, he runs a tight ship, and shop, on that mountain lookout he lives in...
A very organized OCD kind of dude. I would have never imagined that as he is so easy-going, and laid back, as opposed to my intensity and in your face stories...

I'm gonna start calling him the fish whisperer. There was a ginormous fish tank at his place, maybe 200 gallons, 6' long, HUGE!

All he had to do is walk by them, and they would follow him back and forth (he does feed them well every day, so he probably spoils them)

He's like the pied piper of these fish! :laugh:

Don't know how much I can say here, but don't even think about breaking into his place. His 5th amendment rights are in full effect, and you will leave there with blood pouring out of hundreds of holes in your body.

It's nice to see a Dad who tries to interest his sons in all things outdoors, and teaches them sportsmanship and good behavior, even at their young age.

Speedy has a real nice set-up, (got a tour of his place too).
Whats real cool is how he explained how he makes the plugs, why he does things certain ways.
This plug swims real nice, casts great.
I just hope I don't loose it to a Blue..........I have a complex now.

i put clear epoxy on 1st. then let it turn for a bit then the left over i use for the glitter (flakes)

not many at all they all are diff. in there own way i can cut aplug out of a broom stick and it will swim bro it just takes time the plugs are copyed from pictures
i only cut 2or3 plug of one and move on to something diff. like the dons one freind has one asmall one but no one has the big one yet check this out bro...:naughty::naughty::naughty::wow::wow::wow:
