The HRFA is a 501c3 non profit organization. This is a fund raiser event for us. If you wish to become a sponsor, please send me an e-mail at the same address above. For more information about the HRFA, go to www.hrfa.us If you select the surf tournament link in the middle of the home page, you can see more about the surf tournament itself.

We are adding even more lures this year to our tournament prizes.

The top peg boards are really two grand prizes of 24 lures each. Same as last year. Worth over $400.00 each. These are some of the top brand lures out there.

The bottom Plano box cases have at least 8 lures in each and there are 8 of them (could not fit them all) to give out. Each one is worth well over $100.00 each. Second picture is a blow up of one of them. Most of them are custom made. They are new this year.

All of this was donated by supporters of the fishing community. Some of it with a lot of personal effort and pride. Thank you.

I couldn't make it up there today. Any news on the results?

I got skunked, only caught skates on bunker pieces.
I just read this. Not mine, but it might be the official report. Pretty dismal-

17 and 1/2 inch winter flounder was the biggest fish, outside of some short bass.

That is dismal, but a telling indicator of the state of our fishery.

It's unfortunate, but that's the way things have evolved. there was Some great blitzing around Halloween weekend and that was pretty much it. They are catching fish on the jetty at night and in the pocket sometimes Another good time is sunrise where you can pick up some nice stripers or blues. There just aren't enough to go around for everyone to catch. I have been fishing Island beach for 50 years, and this is probably one of the worst years I can remember.

Theres not enough stripers to go around for everyone.
