We all spend lots of money buying our gear and tackle. Over the years how much would you say you have spent on fishing?

I am 50 years old this year.
Bought my first lure with my own money when I was 11 with paper route money, $3,00
I have spent a minimum since then, of $50,000.00

If I had to tally up all the money in tackle and such I have spent over the years I would **** my pants. So I don't! I think we are better off not knowing some things. Things like do you really want to know how many guys your wife had sex with before you married her? See what I mean, I would rather not know that.
Thanks for your honesty Just Ed.

My wife has known 2 other men before me. This is a fact I know.
I lost count of my partnerings after my second posting to Oki/S.Korea/Thailand/Philipines, my wife knows this.
The third fact I must confess to, is that number above is the low end.
I once had 118 Custom Rods, with Reels, almost all Penns, including 8 International 2 speeds, including 2 130's stolen from me. The 2 130's is almost 3 grand alone.......................
Now, should I add in my gun collection and hunting equipment into the equation.
No wonder I am always broke, even when I was bringing home 125K a year!

^ wow it really can get to be an addiction, JustEd!
There is a saying. "Lord when I die, please don't let my wife sell my fishing gear, for what I SAID I paid for it!" I think that definitely may apply in your case!

I keep telling her that she will outlive me, and will be able to travel around the world a couple of time after she has the yard sale.
She knows every purchase I make, sometimes there when it is made.
She was once a surfcaster and knows what the stuff goes for.
I am just a lucky guy that found the right woman on the third try......................
