I read all of the good catches you guys are getting and have been busy with work. Is there any thoughts on how long these stripers may be in the surf? thanks

Well if that's all it will take to run them down, they should be decimated by next year, no? After another winter in NC where the boaters slay them, how much can they take?http://stripersandanglers.com/Forum/images/icons/icon13.png

All kidding aside

December of 2005 and January 2006 we averaged 20 to 25 fish many days, that run ended 2/14/06 in a snow storm

2007 ended toward the end of January

So it's been a while since they stayed this long also most of the fish are in MC I believe the dredging is playing into the fish hanging as crabs and other crustaceans are being stirred up

Very interesting point on the crabs and dredging.

Didn't a charter capt report them yesterday in front of ManasquanInlet or something like that, too?
As for January 2006, catching 25 fish a day from the surf seems fantastic to me. Do you have a record of what the water temps were back then? Thanks
