Seeing how we had a great fall and they are still catching fish up north.Will we have early spring.:huh:

Depends on how low the water temperatures drop this winter remember March can be brutal

What finchaser said. And it depends on where you fish. South Jersey bays heat up faster than the northern ones. You could be talking about bass that winter in the Mullica, Maurice, or Raritan, or the power plant in FR. All have different time tables for when they start eating.

The snow and ice runoff makes for bad fishing if you have a lot of it. Try fishing the incoming, the water is often warmer on that stage.

I usally fish raritan and back bays ocean county.

For back bay oc action the first fish are nuclear fish. They are the holdovers. I don't know a lot about Raritan bay but assume the runoff from the snow will affect that like was already said.
