Some people are reporting they are catching 20" bass right now. I thought that means the end of the run when the small ones start to show up. Does anyone have any idea why this is? thanks

hurricane and snow storm have this fall very screwed up bigger fish are moving offshore.
Reason is the small fish come first and leave last is they can take the cooler water better. Plus the bigger fish follow the bigger bait and last but not least is spearing sustain the smaller fish and when the summer spearing leave the winter spearing come. Hope this answers your question

Exactly what finchaser said. This happens every year. According to my logs falls around the first to second week of december. It has changed when the temps were milder, or last year, for example, when there were record amounts of sandeels at Island Beach.
