2013 has been a year of hardships and challenges for a lot of folks I know. Some still haven't gotten back to their homes, displaced by Sandy's wrath.....
Some children out there, don't get enough to eat, daily......

We are faced with a new health crisis in this country that will IMO only get worse with Obamacare......I'm worried about all the new hardships that will be placed on the middle class.......

There is a new breed of angler out there....completely selfish, unaware of the realities in the fishery stocks, and only concerned with the glory of the weigh in, chasing after someone else's report, instead of finding fish on their own....and very self-centered.....being mostly concerned with how much they are going to spend on gear, so that they will be seen as accomplished, by their peers......

There's nothing wrong with buying things, or treating yourself..but IMO we have more selfishness and apathy out there in the fishing community, than ever before.....leading to mis-information and a "me-first" attitude when it comes to fisheries conservation and management....this saddens me greatly....conditions are not the same as when I was growing up, introduced to this great pasttime, of fishing.....

Fortunately, the most selfish, and uninformed, are comprising a smaller group, as more and more anglers become involved, seek to learn about where our fisheries really stand....and what they can do, to help...:thumbsup:








I wish all of you out there and your families....
better health...
more family time.....
better opportunities....
and brighter days/nights.....for 2014........

And please, if you are in a position to help someone out less fortunate than you....either with a few kind words, unselfish act...or some other small way......please just do it.....the world will be a better place....and the satisfaction you will get from helping others...will be unmeasurable.....:) :thumbsup:
