Planning to go in may, any advice on what week is best.

I'd say the last week as Jersey sometimes isn't in full swing until June and this year the water is exceptionally cold just my opinion

What finchaser said. Every year we can count on bass by the middle of may but you can't count on the size. Looking for a bigger fish come towards the end of May. Are you driving or flying? Bring a bike with you if you're driving up here.

striperhunter even the first week of June could be great if you can put it off that long. Agree about the water being colder. It may be a bit different this year. I have always done well with large the first week in June. Or whenever the new moon is. good luck

Charlie fished monday -wedesday morning and evening only saw one striper and I had a blue. The locals said the fishing was better the week before and they it would be better the weekend after I leave better tides.

Hey striperhunter at least you didnt skunk out! Seems like the fishing will always be better next week, or they killed them last week when I couldn't make it out there. Story of my life too.

fishing the canal it usually is good second and third week in may and third and first june. Each year was good this year was bad but that why they call it fishing and not catching.
