I always look forward to what new designs you may come up with madcaster. I think this may not do what you want it to though. When I throw a pencil all of the action is lifting and popping it out of the water. I don't think if you fish this like a standard pencil you would notice any difference in the amount of water it moves at all.
There is something you might want to try. Instead of holding the rod upwards in a pencil popping position, you could try holding it sideways, parallel to the water's edge. Then, with a twitching motion, you could work it like a spook. If you did that you might see a difference in amount of water moved. I have no idea how it would work because I never fished anything like that. When you try it let us know. Be sure to try it the way I suggested and let us know if you see any difference. At least you tried something different. Have to give you credit for that. Good luck:thumbsup:

The more I look at that the more I think you might do well twitching it sideways like a spook instead of fishing it like a popper. I think someone else said that as well. Throw it out, twitch, spash, slow erratic action at night or sunrise. Recipe for attacking fish. Good luck you might get to try it on blues soon they are catching them from the surf in LBI
