This is definitely going to turn the bunker pipeline into a bottleneck. Does anyone think bunker prices will go up because of it?
Recreational fishermen gathering bunkers for bait in Great Kills or anywhere else in N.Y. waters are now restricted to 100 menhaden a day. That emergency rule went into effect today. It's hardly any problem for those seeking striped bass, as that's far more adult bunkers than are normally netted for a day of fishing. However, those netting little peanut bunkers for bait will have to be careful about how many they take from their castnets.
