Last year - we had close to 500 in attendance and gave $500 in scholarships tograduating seniors. We also gave a $300 donation to the food Pantry inBarnegat. All proceeds go towards the students involved in the fishing club.Doors will open promptly at 9am.

Pleasecome out and help support our fishing club by attending the fleamarket.

garden state outdoors sports show this weekend

The Garden State Outdoor Sports Show returned to the N.J. Expo Center in Raritan Center, Edison yesterday, and runs through Sunday. That facility is off Rt. 440, just minutes from I-287 and U.S. 1. Parking is free for the show that runs from 1-9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $15 at the box office, but only $10 online at www.GSOSS.com (https://blog.advance.net/mt-static/html/www.GSOSS.com) along with a free magazine subscription. Youngsters 11 and under don't require a ticket

Was at that one today it was pretty cool. Gulp for $4, good prices on bucktails and tins. Some guy Alex had a table that he was selling fishing gear for charity and some senior citizens he knows. Picked up a few plugs on the cheap. Didn't want to beat him up too much on the price because it was for a good cause. Anyone else get any deals?

Something was mentioned to me at some of the fishing flea markets by a few people. Just thought that for whatever reason, that some of the guys who are in charge might want to think about the whole picture....

There are times when 2 flea markets or fishing shows, are held on the same day.
Many clubs have a history of doing their show, on that particular day...and IMO should continue doing that.....there is nothing that builds brand awareness (club awareness, fishermen recognition, and long term loyalty..etc) like having a flea market or show on a consistent date.....

But...if for some reason you are juggling or re-considering event dates, because of change of venues, club events, or any other reason....it's a great strategic idea to think of which events will be on the same date as the one you are considering...

Ideally, if your event is one a day when no other events are held, it's reasonable to assume that your show, market, etc, will draw from a larger area, and not be affected by a competing event....
