Forgive me for sounding stupid but what is it that makes it hollow? Thanks

The way it is tied. You are tying it backward away from the hook bend and with a drinking straw your pushing it back towards the bend giving a large profile but it's really hollow underneath . Looks bulky but it's not . Hard to explain but think of cotton candy. Bulky but light.
