A few years ago I bought a paddlelogic trailtrekker kayak cart which was fine for my old kayak that was 32" wide. My new Jackson kayak is 37" at the widest but pretty much maintains a wide stance to the stern. My $169.00 kayak cart no longer worked. I contacted the company and asked if they would sell me a longer axle. They said they could for $40. Instead, I went to Home Depot and bought a 36'x1/2" zinc round rod for $6.78 and 2 hitch pins for $.56 each. I drilled a hole on each end for the hitch pin and had some scrap 3/4" pvc to make 2 3" spacers and extended the axle myself. Works like a charm!

Genius idea.

Needs some bigger wheels to drag that pig through the sand. :HappyWave:

Very creative. Is that yak a lot heavier than a hobie?

BH- I saw a spec on a pro angler 14 and it was listed at 148lbs. My kayak is listed at 98lbs. The pro angler 14 is 13'8" long and 36" wide, my kayak is 13'2" long and 37" wide. The outback and other more streamline hobies will be lighter.
