You can feel it in the air. Shorter days, sunrise coming later. The back bays beginning to load up with bait. I look forward to this time each year, the calm before the run. Anyone else?

I like this time of year, a lot.
Longer nights is what I really like. One weekend to the next pick up 6 or so more minutes of dark a trip.
Noticed lots of tiny bait this past Sunday back bayish.
A few different options of places to fish, no crowds.

Yes and it gets darker sooner. Did you notice any peanut bunker with the tiny bait? wondering how big the peanuts are getting by now.

Yes, that wind yesterday afternoon brought in some cool air. I was loving it and again this morning!
But then you look at the calendar and realize we are about to go into August. :(

Shorter days - longer and colder nights. When that water finally cools a little its game on!

This is the best time of the year. the days get shorter and the benny population disappears.

Last night was the first time it really felt like fall. Blustery wind dropping water temps and a few fish. Amen.

It's that time of year already. I feel it every morning. Sunrise is a little later. Sunser is minute or two earlier each day. In August the heat is usually in the 100's. somehow we escaped that so far. The Summer fishing in the ocean county area has blown big time for me. Except for sharks which has been decent. I am so looking forward to sept and Fall. Who's on board?

I like the first few weeks before fall too. Lots of bait in the bays and breechways. Fish are feeding and bulking up. Bugs keep a lot of fellas from fishing. Whats not to like?

We have a winner! After labor day the beaches will be ours again.

My favorite time of year as well. The last 2 weeks of august are often the hottest. By the first week of september waters will start cooling a lot and the fish will start feeding more heavily.
