I got my first sea robin of the year this morning at nomoco. Last year they were all over the place you could not keep them off your gulp. It's not like I am happy to catch them but I thought it strange that they are not around. What happened to them does anyone know?

I agree I just started seeing them too. Very strange year. Post-Sandy was bad for certain species. I think this year is worse.

We caught a few big ones on Saturday in deeper water...boy do they fight hard!

First sea robins that we caught all year long now that I think about it.

^^^^^^^^^Thanks for sharing that surfrob. In 2013 some guy caught a sea robin that was 19.5 inches and only came in 2nd because it was 3 pounds. I can't even imagine catching a robin that big. Like godzilla. I haven't caught a single robin this year. Any body have an idea where they went? Did they kill them all in the garbagefish tourneys?

We were getting them in Montauk last week fluking first for me this year though.
