Does anyone know what this fish is? Got it in the surf on bloodworms right at sunset above Island Beach last week? It was about 9" long and fat. Thanks guys!

Poke an 8/0 through its lips and send it back out with a clipped fin.........................

I fished the SIC area this morning and picked up a few croakers on fishbites.

BBQ croakers with italian seasoning and old bay sounds good. Will be out this weekend and try for them thanks for the intel.

We fished last night for croakers. did pretty good got them up to 16". They were hitting clams or gulp bloodworms equally. First 2 hours after high tide seemed to be the best action then it went downhill after that. Have done good on the 2 hours before high tide as well. Rich the water cleaned up but the fire in the water you mentioned is still there. Doesn't seem to affect bait fishing or the croakers tho.

Hey ledhead We will send everyone looking for finchaser since he is still catching bass in July.

Nice job on the croakers too.

Fished for croakers last night did pretty well. We got some up to 14" nice and fat. I tried an experiment I used fishbites and my friends used fresh clams. We each got about as many. I was high hook with 2 more. I was using a high low porgy rig with bigger hooks. When you are fishing for them hold your rod they hit pretty hard. Best catches were around the first 2 hours of outgoing tide. In 8-10 feet of water.

The croakers are a little bony but you can filet the bigger ones.
