DIY fly rod vehicle rack

I got the glass pullers from harbor freight for 6.99 each and the bungies for 3 bucks and the 1/4 20 hardware for 3 bucks from home depot. The rest I had.

My only concern with these has been the communist state we live in called NJ and the possibility of getting ticketed for obstruction of vision.

You can carry fly rods in a ski rack just load them in backwards.

My thing is that I usually carry two kayaks on my crossbars so I sold my old ski rack. Too much of a PITA to take them on and off every time.

I can fit a 1 piece 9' 6" rod inside the SUV easily and my fly rods are all 9'.

You are so right if they want to bust your balls during a a traffic stop they can hassle you for even having a car air freshener hanging from your rear view mirror! Very creative application rob thanks for sharing.
