Ok so I wouldn't normally do this but this guy is a guide/charter in SNJ, so in all fairness are subject to some critics. Ill come back and say what he said the size stats after we get a few replies, but a hint is he is saying it was the longest bass maybe ever. Bay Fish, and I know it is an 8ft rod from other pics, What would you say the size of this is?

That is a little too blurry to get a good read on the fish. For an old man like me at least. It does look like a nice fish, and it's thick. I would say it could be 30lbs. Over 45 inches? I'm not sure due to the blurriness. I don't think that looks like any larger to me though, if that was the longest fish he ever caught and he's a guide?
Congrats to whoever caught it.

Def not the biggest fish I ever saw. Maybe the guy got the "big fish" calculator in his head. In the heat of the moment your biggest fish always weighs 10 lbs more. Until you put it on the scale lol. I agree with bucket.
Blurry pic but possibly 25-30 pounds. Still a very nice bass for the bay.

I didn't even think it was that, he said it was 60 inches weight unknown, one picture only and released, didn't come out and say but implying a record let go with one pic, thats why im saying come on man!!
My two 8 footers go 40" but to first eye and my 10.5' is 50" I thought this was a basic 40" fish but fat low 20s, I think thats a 5" plastic.

If you caught a record fish and were going to release it, would you only take one fuzzy pic of it?
That's what I would be saying "Come on man!" about. I agree sharkhart. Why do guys do that?

My thoughts exactly.

40 inches, sure. 50 inches looks like a stretch. This pic does not look like a 60 inch fish. And a fish that big you have to get a clear shot from the rod butt to nose of the fish.

There is no way that fish is 60 inches. Guy must have measured it using magnavision.

looks like a tops a 10# to 15 pounds fish head and tail are small
distance from mouth to dorsal fin too short
a 40,50, or 60 there would be more than 1 rod guide in picture at least 3 on a 5' fish

that's what I would say maybe 40 inches mid 20's. I don't think it larger then that. looks like a fish I caught 2 year ago size wise and it was 25 pounds 40 inches.

Not looking for a specific name but this "guide" who caught that monster (60 incher - 30%). Would that happen to be the dude who is part owner of the rod company? Just curious.

I say 20 lbs.tops most of the 8' rod would be in the pic if it were 40lbs. or better since it would be over 4 ft. long.
