Read some interesting news in my e-mail. For all you who fish the rb area. They want to build a LNG 28 miles offshore for LNG. If something goes wrong this could crush the life out of raritan bay. Im not a tree hugger by any means. This project seems risky.
There's a meeting tonight if anyone is interested.

Say No to Port Ambrose and Yes to a Healthy Harbor!

Liberty Natural Gas is proposing to build an offshore facility called Port Amrbose for dirty, expensive, and explosive liquefied natural gas (LNG) just 28 miles off the coast of NJ beaches. The facility could be used to import or export this dirty fuel, which produces 40% more greenhouse gas emissions than domestic natural gas.

Recently, the federal government has released the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Port Ambrose LNG facility. The report details all of the potential environmentally related risks that Port Ambrose could pose to our ocean, marine life, ocean-based economies, and safety. The public has just 60 days to review and comment on the over 1,800-page report.

There will be an open house to gain more information on the issue from 4:30pm to 5:30pm. The public hearing will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Please attend the January 8th hearing and say NO to Port Ambrose and YES to a healthy NY/NJ Harbor! Together we can stop LNG!

The PDF goes into more detail. It will only result in a long term net of 6 jobs. that's not a lot of economic benefit for the risk if something goes wrong. My .02
