Never thought I would see this happen. Thanks for the info.

Massachusetts: The Mass DMF has basically rejected the idea of special limits for the “for-hire” fleet and is recommending a daily limit for striped bass of 1 fish, 28″ or larger.

According to Al Ristori's blog in todays Star Ledger, the ASMFC met yesterday and approved New Jersey's proposal for the two fish limit. All it needs to do now is to get passed by the New Jersey legislature. So much for conservation!!

Still prevents killing of big fish and only 1 between 28 and 43 no more 2 at 28 and only 1 over 43

IMO should be 1 at 28

x2. I still dont understand why they can't agree on universal limits coast wide. Are the forces behind the scenes that powerful?

^^^^ Yes. Look at the commercial fishermen in maryland. Every year you hear about these outrageous abuses and poaching. They are still doing it and the only folks that seem to be caught are the big boys.

They finally saw the writing on the wall. this year even the MA hook and line comms had trouble making quota. First time that happened in long time.
