I keep reading how you all say you won't catch a fish unless you can cast like Superman or that the fish are at the longest end of the cast. Are there any thoughts why this holds true for this time of year?

I keep reading how you all say you won't catch a fish unless you can cast like Superman or that the fish are at the longest end of the cast. Are there any thoughts why this holds true for this time of year?
They make a detour when they hit the jersey waters and smell dark's waders.
Last outing for me most of the fish I caught were on very long casts. But a few were caught within 30 yards. No doubt this year long casts mean a lot more fish, but fish can still be caught on very normal relatively short casts. But for me at least, it took a lot of casts to catch/hook up.
They keep dredging to protect house that are built where the shouldn't be and mother nature removes sand in stroms and bars form further and further off shore.
