Outstanding letter, Paul

I mentioned this to Don Marantz at last week's flea market. He said that you guys hadn't been notified so I sent you that e-mail. I am sorry if you were not notified sooner, assumed Berkeley would have been pressing you to come in and show support...
It's a relief to see the JCAA jump in.....this is a cause that is right and just...one size does not fit all.....some of those jetties/groins have been relatively
untouched for 75 years and held up to every storm, including Sandy.....where only a small % of the houses in that area sustained major damage by virtue of being the highest elevated area, oceanside, in Monmouth County.....in some cases 10-15' or more above sea level.
Joe Pallotto, legendary saltwater icon and unyielding force behind the original Asbury 8th Ave flume reconstruction....and the
Asbury Club, have been contacting politicians, writing letters, telling anyone who would listen, that this will not work as planned....
Shark River raised the issue of alternatives such as T-formations or lengthening more of the jetties which would minimize storm surges as they have for 75 years....
Berkeley had an equally compelling letter raising issues about the potential dead zones and ecosystem damage that would result....
Along with
many others in the fishing community, some well-known, and others ordinary fishermen thinking about their future fishing opportunities....
Anyone who has seen
Art Nelson's video would see that the ACOE is not always accurate and honest in their pre-construction engineering and analysis reports....
Now with the
JCAA on board we might make some more noise, and more importantly
get the ACOE to consider some of the alternatives that have been mentioned.
Thanks for the support, Paul. It is a welcome breath of fresh air, and much appreciated.

By ourselves we really don't have much juice.
United we can be strong enough to alter the outcome of elections.
So glad to see you guys on board...
