this one took the rubber down but,no problem.
This was the glory days of island beach. Circa 1992-98. Much different now though we did see some nice fish this Fall.
It's amazing you are still catching fish. whats the bait they are feeding on right now?
down by us its a lot of herring.

well,we have lots of herring and several diff species of them along with some pnuts that are and maybe still around,I have not been back out since it got cold.
as of the last session there were still some around, not a lot but, enough.
they may be gone by now.
also we still have schools of very big bunkers around, they are like 14 inches now.
I guess the cold water will kill them off soon or maybe it has already, planning a recon mission tonight to go out and sling some rubber.
water is @ 42 degrees F right now, still will bite good.
will see what happens.
odd to see that there are no fishermen fishing there.

one on a mann's stretch 1 minus[6 inch].
Very nice! Fished last night and did the cold skunk dance. Are you only catching them in the dark or the daytime too?
Awesome report. I have picking away at them the last 2 weeks. Usually try to get out there end of day. When a cold front comes in the fishing is terrible. Otherwise there seem to be a lot more schoolies around than usual. SP yellow and bomber schoolbus have been getting most of my fish. Not that great with rubber but a friend of mine has been crushing them with rubber and I may tag along with him one night. Nice going RP!

"Takes a Big Man to sling Big Wood,,,,boys sling plastic,,,,,,,"
Awesome catches thanks for sharing you really seem to be dialed in.
Couldn't help noticing your sig line, and you are fishing plastic in that pic and not big wood. Don't mean anything bad by it just a little ball bust. Having 2nd thoughts about plastic?:)
oh,I am a huge ball buster myself,,,lol.
I only use plastic plugs at the start and the end of the season.
when may rolls in or the migration gets here I will be on big wood and big sticks, the light stuff gets put back on the rack.
now the fish are on peanuts and the slim, plastic plugs do the job.
also not hunting large fish since there seem not to be any but, come may,,,oh baby,,,big wood comes out to play.
IAH,the lighter rigs were my normal fishing gear but as of about 18 years ago,I learned a good lesson about fishing with lighter gear,I vowed never to be undergunned again during the times when adult bunkers are around.
cheers
ps-I got a fat fish last night on wood but, small wood.
