Last minute decision to chunk on the boat yesterday with my brother...wasn't really expecting much with all the dirty washed out water from Saturday's heavy rain & winds. We would have been content with a few bluefish to be honest.
Total was 23 bass up to 26lbs (only 7-8 were keepers) and two bluefish.
The first spot was a complete bust and waste of two hours...not even a tap.
Decided to burn some fuel and check out a new area which I hoped had some cleaner water. Made the run only to be greeted by some rain moving into the area (we got spared on the thunder luckily).

Had action right away on chunks and ended up leaving them biting because we ran out of bait.
Wow nicely done. You sure do catch a lot of big stripers. Quick question do you live near the water?
Three of us fished MOCO 2 pm to 7:30 pm. Had a good bite of blues 3 to 15 pounds on metal and plugs. Also caught one short striper and a fluke. Best action was after 4 pm.
God those are some big stripers. Congrats on the effort, well done.
nice going on the blues. I tried 2 spots in somonco yesterday. Close to sundown. First one had dirty water no fish. 2nd one I got 2 blues on metal. One pretty nice 29 incher. Other was a little smaller. Not too many guys out where I was.
Great reports guys. Fished bay side of SH on the outgoing from 7 to 8:80pm. Few bluefish. I was using a needlefish and bringing in real slow.
More fish at the park this week. Mostly bluefish on metal. Sunup and sundown good times. Sore arms. Helps to live close to the beach. Big blues in the bay as well. catch em up.
Here's a small keeper from Monday night that was kept for the table.
It's crazy how much cropping/editing I need to do nowadays on fishing pictures and even then still not safe from stalkers!
Some guys have given "creeping while you're sleeping" a whole new meaning.

Nice fish jb. You definitely put in your time.
I have a similar problem places that I fish. Lots of structure. Bridges, lighted dock areas etc. All places that those in the know would be able to tell if I posted pics on the net. On the one hand you want to try to help people who aren't catching. Otoh, you realize a large portion of guys who troll the internet sites are lazy *** internet report chasers. They don't want to learn anything they are just looking for spots. I hate all those lazy dudes, and wish a horde of green flies would chase them around every time they go out. Even at night. They deserve it.
Oh I did catch some fish last night. In the back OC with rubber and light jig heads. Nothing big, biggest was 27 inches. The ocean is heating up with action. We should have a good week ahead of us.
Good job. Got some more Blues yesterday in the park. It seems like the sizes are getting smaller and now it is more mixed. Metal and poppers.
JB love that fish pic. Reminds me of willy wonka. You caught the golden striper.
Fished nomoco from 5-7a. Heavy NE wind. Best I could do was throw heavy metal and bucktails. Conditions not that great, much prefer west wind. Got a few different sized blues on ava 2oz.
Good going. Big head, what did it weigh out at?
Nice fish, Shark.
This morning 9 bass to 29" and 4 blues to 10# all on jig head and tube tail, released.
Fun time playing C&R with the fly rods on mixed size bluefish last Friday with Ed, Pete, and Charlie from Coastal Fly Rodders.
Saturday's was blowing hard North East and we decided to give it a shot in the bay but we just couldn't get past the bluefish.

Nice catches gents!
Wtg
Soaked bunker in AC last night. I got the trash fish round robin, dog fish, skates, and sea robins LOL.
Three of us fished OC this afternoon and had a slow pick of bluefish to ten pounds. All fish caught on bucktails tipped with plastic worms.
Nice catch! What the heck is it?
Good going guys. monco 7-9pm. One blue on a shad. Rough surf. Didnt see much else caught.
Looks a little like a sturgeon. I'm curious too.
It's a solid bass with a mag darter hanging out of her mouth!!! Nice job brotha!!!!
It looked funny to me too as well. I didn't think it was a striper. And then you look at it sideways and you realize it could be. Nice job shark how many pounds?
Fished somoko for one hour after it got light this morning. Surf was rough. I was tossing 3 and 4 oz Ava's. Nothing for me, but I did see birds working far out. Surf is big and prob going to get dirty.
Good going SH. Been hearing of a good bite near an inlet in atlantic county. Went there last night. Got a couple blues on bucktail. When it got dark things turned off. Still nice to have a bend in the rod. May try back before the crowds start arriving for the weekend.
Nice reports guys. Giving it a few hours to clean up from the rains. Trying for the PM tides tonight.
Just was looking at the surf cam, I agree. The njsurfer cam the water didn't look that dirty but still big surf. Water good for the surfers can be a challenge for the fisherfolks. Good luck this weekend everyone.
Thats why I like surfing AND fishing. When the winter storms show up it's usually bad for the fishing. Same with the spring noreasters. Bring a wetsuit and fishing pole to the beach with your surfboard and you get the best of both worlds. Also sometimes have seen bunker out there and stripers crashing on them. It doesn't happen a lot. Still, great to have a front row seat when that happens.
