When they were committing suicide he ^^^^ fished now that you have to work for them no where to be found:huh:
Ouch!
Yep, I don't fish a lot lately, you who know me know why.....:2flip: :moon:
Let's go back to those 2 Winters.....when the fish were here...and "committing suicide"...as you tough guys like to say.....:kooky: :ROFLMAO
Let's look at that......
1. It was a night bite for the bigger fish....
2. Scores of fishermen were fishing the 2 hours before dark, catching smaller fish..and then went home. A handful of us were part of the 2nd shift, every night.......starting at 12, and ending up at 4am.
3. I was missing sleep at least 5 nights a week to find those fish...... severely sabotaging business and personal relationships to be in on that bite.
http://stripersandanglers.com/Forum/...f-surf-fishing
4. Every night the bite was different....at times I would have to climb on and off up to 8 jetties to find them.
5. The best and biggest fish were centered around the tips of the jetties...there was a lot of areas where the fish just weren't.....
6. Eventually a lot of people heard about it....Rich Swisstack even came out one night.....I think he got a fish close to 30#...the largest fish were few and far between.....
7. There were the same guys you would see every night....Nick from Luna Lures...Sergio, and a few who will remain anonymous......you had to work your *** off if you wanted a big fish......
8. There were nights when it was brutally cold...I remember catching fish with air temps as low as 17 degrees, when it was so cold if my hands were out of the gloves for a few minutes it was painful.....had to wear layers and layers of protection on those cold nights....Let's not forget the cold Winter W/NW winds common at that time of year...
9. Hopping from rock to rock with a moving tide ain't that easy....I got wet or fell in more than once....
10. If it was so easy.....how come only a handful of us were out there??.....
Eff you tough guys!....
Yup........
Easy fish?....:burn:
Arm Chair fisherman?....:kicknuts:
You basstids! :beatin:If it's so easy.....Come fishing with me on the jetties one night.....:2flip: :moon:
Oh...I just remembered..:whoo:.....there are very few NJ beach jetties that hold big fish anymore....:( :HappyWave:
Woe hold on there ye ole Darkskiesaroonie.
No one is questioning your "Winter of Bass off the Jetty" efforts years and years ago (amazing that you remember them).
Yes back then, when you braved the elements, actually got out of your chair and fished, those were times of effort, fun rewards, satisfaction.
Remember the rocks you hopped back then?....Didn't think so. Anyway....
But thy Darkskies who wrote thy long winded posts is hereth no more. A distant character from the past.
Yes he still posts at random times with promises of finishing his thoughts....only to forget them for moons on end....likely age related memory loss accompanied by irritable bowl syndrome.
So we are left praying to King Neptune that someday, some night that Darkskies can gather enough energy, enough hope, and rise out of thy comfy chair, drive safely on the Parkway and casteth thy artificial lure into thy saltiest of water and retrieveth thy plug....slowly. And then doeth again. and again, and then catcheth thy toothiest of bluefish.. and then on the next cast, doeth battle with the famed fish with Stripes, yes they still do exist (in very limited quatity...no thanks to Tom Fote's efforts).
Or at the very least
Keep on subject in the Dead Things Thread ya knucklehead!!!
All this love fest and back and forth you three dudes should get a room.:HappyWave:
Some people SUCK.
Either keep the fish and eat it or return it to the ocean with as little harm as possible.

Guess it's too hard to take a skate off a hook when it hits their metal and they are angry it wasn't a striper?:don't know why:
I don't understand that either. Skates and sea robins are part of the whole food chain. Doesn't take that much away from fishing time to throw it back.
Some cut the wings off to make scallops out of them could even be the commercial guys cutting them out of nets
End of the season trip out to Montauk and could only come up with this

Nice going man. I have been doing terribly with the dead things this year. Had one good week. Lets hope next year is a better one both for the dead things and the stripers.
Maybe after this storm we might have some surprises washed up.
OK men let's get this thread started for 2016! Who's going to be the first one to post up some pics?
I will start up in April.
Looking for the "special" dead thing.
We need some odd stuff this year.
Yeah, agreed. Hope that one of us can find a decrepit looking creature that looks like a sea monster. Or maybe a dead "carcass" like what dark allegedly found. I was was walking around last night looking. Don't wait till April you will be left in my dust!
You folks ever have a GW shark wash up? Happens fairly often on the Cape.
^^^^^ Not a big one in Jersey like I have seen on the news up by you guys. Would love to see that one day and look at a great whites teeth up close and personal. He would have to be dead of course or I might crap my pants!
I got the first entry for the year. Was out fishing last night, heard reports of lots of bunker, didn't see any flipping. Did find this. It's not much but at least it's something. Let the games begin!
Nice find!
Let the games begin, x2. Nice.
