Ok just checking.
Nice going. I would concentrate on the back. There are a lot of bunker and fish stacked up in the usual areas. Good luck to everyone this year.
Opening of the season finally here. I fished tonight in the jbay area. Pretty decent pick, small fish though, bucktail and pork. There are a lot of bunker around, more than usual. Might shape up to be a pretty good season.
Fished another new area this AM (1:15 to 10:15), could only manage a short bass on a Washed Ashore Swim Darter.
Fun trip, like the area a real lot, lots of walking and casting, a real lot. Didn't see any bait, a little weedy at times.
Long Island has nice people there.

Nice effort. Good luck to you all this season.
Have been out a few times over the last two weeks since the season opened. Have been managing some schoolie bass on bucktails and rubber. For the last week I've been getting some real big blues up to 16 pounds. These are real bruisers. Hitting plugs, metal, and bucktails. All in the back bays. Nighttime.
X2 night! These are some monsters. They've bit through my line three times already. Thank God I only lost a few bucktails. Head-shaking fun.
Lordy what a great bluefish bite. I was worried about the rain but I didn't have to be. Made my way to a SS inlet around 5 p.m. yesterday. When I got there it was a little slow I think it was slack tide. Then within a half hour all hell broke loose and everyone had bent rods. Most of the people were respectful, not too many tangles with others. It was a blue fish catching frenzy. Got them up to 15 pounds on metal and buck tails. Left them biting.
I think the inlets are the best bet right now. I probably fished the same inlet as you. Fished 6 to 9pm. They bit into the dark. Once it was dark I broke out a yellow color SP and they kept hitting that as well.
A good week of solid bluefish tackle busting action. Went out last night. Someone mentioned the water had gotten colder. My reading was 57 degrees and I only managed 2. Have been getting them to the 15# class but that was a few days ago when the water was 52. Inlets and back bays, mostly bucktails and diamond jigs.
Same for me great week of alligator fishing. These things are brutes. Switched over to bucktails to save on lost tackle. Picked up a few short stripers as well.
I'm out to dinner now with Mom, might try later on this evening. I hope the heavy rain didn't chase those big brutes away. Tons o fun.
Ocean was rough, picked up 9 most on metal this AM in the inlet.
Had to work for them, they wouldn't hit a popper. Fun trip.

Nice!
Fished a ss inlet yesterday eve on the incoming tide. Pretty solid action with the big blues on bucktails. Did manage one short striper 27-inch as well, released.
