Default best lures for when the peanut bunker are thick?

Have seen a lot of peanut bunker gathering up in the back bays. Reports of stripers not wanting to touch lures. What have you guys had the most success with? thanks

    4" shad
    4 or 5 " rattle trap

Pay attention to what history has taught us or be prepared to relive it again

What he said. I like the bigger rattle traps cause they look just like a small peanut bunker.

Sebile makes a heavy duty saltwater grade rattletrap, my friend who fished freshwater put me up on them.

It looks great but I have yet to fish it.

My go to has always been 4" shads or if the bluefish are a problem use AOK's PB 40 metal or a Hopkins.

Never go wrong with a bucktail in my book...

Yeah that's right JB good point no one talked about metal yet. A krocodile or a kastmaster spoon is a great match for a peanut bunker unless the water is too shallow.

Don't forget about the small poppers around 3" long. They work well too.
