    Default Swans in the Navesink

Got a call from Papa Angelo this morning. He takes note every year that there is a huge group of white swans grouping up in the back of the Navesink river by the Oceanic bridge. Maybe getting ready for the trip south.

Whatever it is, they get together back there for 2 weeks, and it's an amazing sight. When Angelo first called me last week, there were 4 there. Today there were 25, and the number may reach 30 or more.

Any parents who have little children and want them to see a cool slice of the yearly swan migration, maybe you want to take them down there soon. They may only be there for another few days or so.

A Dad took his little daughter there this morning, she really enjoyed it.

Thanks to Papa Angelo for bringing it to my attention.

Just got yelled at by OGB....

"What the heck are ya doin putting swans on a fishin website?!!!
Have you lost your frikkin mind???
What are you turning into the PETA guy!!
You better toughen up and no more of this touchy feely stuff, people might think you're nuts or something!"

Yep you're right, and you're not a grouchy guy either! Where's Killie to tell me how pleasant and mellow you are?

In my defense, if people suggest a thread and I think it has merit for the people in that area, up it goes.

Except for PETA, anything metrosexual or in the spam category, etc.

Do swans taste like plovers, or do you have to cook them longer?

That's great, maybe he could sell as many t shirts as the WWWally gig to the eco-nazis.
I took my children there, we brought some bread, fed the swans and ducks. Kids were happy, the end. Thanks Rich.

Didn't I tell you about our new forum called "birds have feelings too". We're rolling it out next week, thought you should be among the first to know...

[Look for our new video forums, "birds have feelings too" and how to close down a beach for half a season for a few non-existent birds. ]
(posts#13 & 17, I filmed a video documenting they kept the beach areas closed for WEEKS after the plovers were long gone)

The best window to hit the fish now is a one hour shot, dawn and dusk. 75% of the numbers mentioned are caught during those windows.

For 2 months I've been neglecting work and everything else to get down there. Work has suffered, I've run out of excuses to give people why I'm late. And we're talkin about bass from 15-27", most of them being 15-22". One or 2 larger thrown in for those on the Red-X. Nothing like you guys had at Demo for 3 glorious weeks.
So you're right, my best days/nights were back in Nov when I would drive down and sleep in the van for the weekend, nomad style.

I'm so jealous of those OGB type, OFFC retired farts and all those other guys who live 10 minutes away from the water.

    Yup, I suck.

Pebbles took my Mom down there to find the swans today. They succeeded, and even got a chance to scout the water out front for me. Love that girl.

And judging by the views and some other comments, some people did get out there to see them. That's why I'm in the Effumall club. Eff ya's all!
