Fished way out East this morning from 2:15 to 8:15, picked up 11 Schoolies from 18" to 26", most on a School Buss Bomber and Rapala Max Rap 17. Missed a bunch of hits. Traffic out and back was GREAT. And found a dead thing. Low humidity and good visibility with a nice size moon. Surf was basically 1' but an occasional 3' set knocked me on my butt, fun time in nice weather (air and water very comfortable). And Solitude to boot!!!

Way out east this AM, OTW 2:30-7:30.
Lost a nicer fish around 3:30, between 4:30 and 6:15 picked up 7 bass and 1 blue between 22 and 28 inches.
Plug that got the most fish was the Rapala Max Rap 15, single hooks (on pic hook is the correct direction, just was flipped on the pic).
First time I fished this plug with the single hooks, lost 1 fish, laded 4 bass and the blue.
Always a fun trip floundering around on the rocks out there fighting the surf.

Headed out there again and fished from 2:15 to 7:15 this morning.
    Caught 7 Bass between 22 and 28 inches.....again.
But this time they were caught between 2:45 and 4:30.....opposite of Sunday AM trip.
Did loose a nicer fish at 4:50 or so on a CCW Darter.
Caught most fish on a white Surf Asylum Flat Glide Needle.
Lots of bumps, big blow up on SS popper (no connection)
    Dropped a couple other fish.
Spent a lot of time horizontal getting bounced around like a seal.
Fun trip...a bit banged up....but good to go

Thanks Fin, the front one I have correct, in the pic it was tangled.
What is the reason for the back one to be up?

So when fish hits it can grab hook the way you have it can push against body of plug and you miss him better hook up ratio
It's how we rig em at the shop also how all the tuna lures come from the factory

Nope, I have the front hook correct, the back hook down, but I think I like it like that. That plugs hook sets have been pretty good. Its the plugs with trebles.......
I have been slamming them good lately. Better hook sets. The landing ratio has been much better recently.
And you find anything dead lately????

Owner ,mustad and VMC suggest the configuration I showed you some plugs don't swim your way
I have rigged hundred in the past 3 years
all my Sp's have been rigged with them for the past 2 years
There is a diagram on every pack of owners
    but to each his own

Headed out this AM, only one bass around 3:00 AM on a Choopy small yellow/black needle.
Was going to fish larger plugs and brought the 11' ODM, 3:30 ended up loosing a plug (second time on this trip the line broke). Found top tip guide cracked. Walked back and got the 10' rod, lost one other fish false dawn.
Nice trip , beautiful out there. I am ready to fish some sand, 3 out of 5 nights out there on the rocks has been great fun and very physical.

    Thanks again Fin.
I have been rigging them like this from the beginning, will likely make the change on the tail hook.

This mornings trip, fished from 2:45-7:30.
    Beautiful weather.
Landed 4 bass and 1 blue, between 22 and 26 inches.
Missed a couple hits. Fun. (2 Bass in dark, others false dawn).
Surf Asylum Glider 3 bass, Orca top water for the other bass and blue.
4 trips there in 8 days, I am beat-up pretty good, would repeat in a heart beat, it is beautiful out there.

Great sunrise pics as always. Kudos for fishing away from where the cool kids have been casting.

Tried to beat the crowds today, wanted to fish out east at sunrise. Got up at 3am and was there by 4:10. No traffic, heavy rain. Too much of a punk to fish in it so went to sleep in the truck. Got up around noon, went to the beach and made a few casts. Got a decent blue about 30 incher and a striper 21 incher on bucktail. Left before any build up of traffic. Home now drowning a few cold brewskis. Be safe out there dudes!

You did much better than me. Beat the traffic and fished from 2:30 to 8:30 AM yesterday.
    I just sucked.
Bad approach. Looked like Striper Water, only a couple fish caught where I was, no crowd.

Well thannks but I have been sucking wind out east. I made three trips at night and only got one short striper and some blues. Heard of some good action by the boats and was hoping with the bad weather it would be on! Well it definitely wasn't on for me that's for sure.

Out East again this morning, 2:15-8:15.
Lots of weed in close, expected it.
Couple bumps in dark, sun up 3 short bass up to ~26 inches.
One on an Orca, the other two on Matt Hoff's Mini Popper (silver).
Casts great with wind in face. Missed 3 good hits on it too....various reasons (LOL).
Great being out there, covered a good mile of shore.

Nice. I fished further west Sunday afternoon, hour around high tide. Picked up a few tailor blues and one short fluke on tins. Saw a lot of small whitebait and things like that in the surf line. Gonna happen any day now.

This past Sunday, way out east, north side, early AM.
One bass and 1 blue, both around 24 inches. Picked up the bass around 3:00 and dropped another just after that, needle.
Then false dawn a blue on an MH4 Mini-Popper (small bait in the one spot).
Combination of fog, almost no moon, clouds, make the dark crazy dark.
Always great being out there, fun time, covered a mile.
