Headed out East this AM, new water for me, sand beach for a change. Covered a mile plus of beach and had one bump, likely a fluke. Saw no bait and no one else was wetting a line.
Liked the water and will be back. Very nice night, cool for mid-summer. Was expecting a bigger surf.

Fished out east last night. Not exactly mecca, but close. Was fishing near an inlet. Right around 10 got a solid hit on a bucktail. Dropped it! fished for 15 more mins, and got hit again. This time I got it in, was a blue about 12 lbs and 35 inches. Released to fight another day. This has been a slow summer for me so far. Waiting for the exotic fish to show up.

Hey at least you tried. Triggers are already here, a little S of Montauk near the inlets. I fished near one last night, but the weed was a problem for me. May try near the beginning of the week after the moon if I can get out there.

Fished way out East this morning from 2:15 to 8:15, picked up 11 Schoolies from 18" to 26", most on a School Buss Bomber and Rapala Max Rap 17. Missed a bunch of hits. Traffic out and back was GREAT. And found a dead thing. Low humidity and good visibility with a nice size moon. Surf was basically 1' but an occasional 3' set knocked me on my butt, fun time in nice weather (air and water very comfortable). And Solitude to boot!!!

Way out east this AM, OTW 2:30-7:30.
Lost a nicer fish around 3:30, between 4:30 and 6:15 picked up 7 bass and 1 blue between 22 and 28 inches.
Plug that got the most fish was the Rapala Max Rap 15, single hooks (on pic hook is the correct direction, just was flipped on the pic).
First time I fished this plug with the single hooks, lost 1 fish, laded 4 bass and the blue.
Always a fun trip floundering around on the rocks out there fighting the surf.

Headed out there again and fished from 2:15 to 7:15 this morning.
    Caught 7 Bass between 22 and 28 inches.....again.
But this time they were caught between 2:45 and 4:30.....opposite of Sunday AM trip.
Did loose a nicer fish at 4:50 or so on a CCW Darter.
Caught most fish on a white Surf Asylum Flat Glide Needle.
Lots of bumps, big blow up on SS popper (no connection)
    Dropped a couple other fish.
Spent a lot of time horizontal getting bounced around like a seal.
Fun trip...a bit banged up....but good to go
