I heard he was fishing a rod with bait. A fish hit and started taking the rod into the water. He went after it and then got out too far. I'm not making judgements here, it's still very sad no matter what happened. No fish is worth your life though. RIP Sir.

Obituary
Ronald Moore, 68, of Union, NJ died unexpectedly on December 6, 2017. Mr. Moore was born on December 21, 1948 to James and Irene Moore (nee Lankay). He grew up in Maplewood, NJ and served his country in the US Army.
He worked for over 30 years in the pharmaceutical industry at Schering Plough before retiring. At the same time he also ran his own landscaping business.
Ron was known for his love of golf and fishing, and being an avid fan of the New York Rangers, Yankees and Giants. He will be remembered for his unwavering willingness to help others when problems arose.
Mr. Moore is survived by his brother, Richard Moore, his nephew, Thomas Moore, and cousin, Joan Giacolone. Ron is also survived by his soul mate of 25 years, Karen Ritacco and filled the father figure role for her son William Ritacco and William's wife, Christina.
A visitation will be held for Ronald on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 4-6:30pm followed by a service with military honors from 6;30-7pm at McCracken Funeral Home, 1500 Morris Ave., Union, NJ.
